happening. The Domain Name System automatically converts the names we
type in our Web browser address bar to the numeric IP addresses of

domain is represented by the last word in the name which is
controlled by the IANA (Internet Assigned Numbers Authority). For
example, .COM stands for commercial websites open to everyone while
.NET represents network websites open to everyone, .ORG means
non-profit organization websites open to everyone, .EDU is restricted
to schools and educational organizations, .MIL is restricted to the
U.S. Military, .GOV is restricted to the U.S. Government, and .US,
.UK, .RU and other two-letter country codes represent their
respective countries. DNS and the registrar work together to easily
